VELIA NEWMAN
Born in Australia 1969, Velia Newman began painting at the age of nine. Largely self-taught but with many years of guidance from mother Anita Newman, a well known romantic impressionist artist. Studied under Lyn Butchart and Peter Abrahams. She gains her inspiration from beaches, surf, natural bush-land, boating activities, wildlife in plague proportions. Her vivid bright colours of various subjects are reflected in her paintings. She has exhibited with recognized Artist David Boyd and Archibald Prize winner Geoff Dyer. She is represented in various Galleries in Australia, Asia, Canada, and United Kingdom. Currently 4 of her artworks have been published. Her paintings are highly thought after and have been purchased by numerous private collectors. Velia's paintings have excellent investment potential.
PETER BROWNE
You will be amazed with Peter’s painting -
“they have three ingredients, humour, Aussie flavour and emus”. He
has also evolved his style to include realistic nudes, flowers and
spectacular cubism. Peter was born 1947 in West Wyalong. A raconteur
and scallywag, he moved into a ruin at Silverton where he
established his first Gallery. Peter is inspired by people he meets.
He has inflicted his artworks not only on canvases but on tourists’ cars and coaches.
DR. ALEX
KOLOSZY
Born in Hungary in 1938. Showing an early interest in
drawing, art and sculpture, he was recommended as a student to the
Academy of Arts in Gyor. In 1956, after the unsuccessful uprising,
he fled his home country to the Netherlands where he received a
scholarship to the Rembrandt Academy of Art. In 1958 he migrated
from Holland to Australia. In Sydney he worked with such major icons
as “The Elizabethan Theatre Trust” and the Eric Porter Film
Productions. He has been a professional sculptor in excess of 30
years. Widely represented in numerous private and public
collections, amongst which are Buckingham Palace, The Ronald Reagan
Library, Hungarian National Gallery, Budapest, The Australian
Parliament, A.C.T. Power House Museum, Sydney, The Stockman Hall of
Fame. Qld, and The White House , the USA. He has staged some 20
successful one man shows and has participated in nearly 50 group
exhibitions in Australia and abroad, culminating in a highly
regarded reputation amongst his peers, art connoisseurs and
collectors worldwide. He has been a recipient of numerous
commissions and rewards.
DAVID
BRAYSHAW
David has been a professional Artist since 1982. He has
an impressive list of artistic achievements including a string of
art prizes and commendations and sell out one man exhibitions. He
has won lst prize, twice at the most prestigious Camberwell
exhibition. David’s works are in many collections - private, public,
museums, overseas and in Australia. His works have been featured in
many art publications and in 1983 he was made a fellow of the
Australian Institute of History and Art. Davids’s search for new and
unusual painting subjects has led him to the Great Barrier Reef,
Australian Alps, Rainforests and the Windswept Australian Coastline.
JOHN BRADLEY
Professional Artist since 1982. Most
viewers when introduced to John’s unique style are fascinated with
his treatment of light, attention to detail and the depth of his
canvasses. The colours of his majestic panoramic vistas of the Blue
Mountains is awe inspiring. Represented in many private and
corporate collections in Australia and Overseas. His subjects have
been reproduced on calendars, placemats, open and limited edition
art prints. During 2001 – 2002, John painted 60 paintings and 28
working drawings for his 122 page hardcover book “Blue Mountains
Magic”. Forward by Mayor Jim Angel - “There are no other artists
that I know of, who can paint and make our beautiful Blue Mountains
come alive with such details as John Bradley. Congratulations John –
well done!".
TONY DUARTE
A Romantic impressionist, Tony's pastel works employ the serene effects of light touching the skin, ground and water, capturing the magic moments that makes life worth living. His art ranges from beach themes, nudes, ladies in flowing frocks and ballerinas - all of which are simply stunning.Born in Portugal , he graduated from "Escola Artes Plasticas of Coimbra and Escola De Belas Artes of Lisbon . He pursued a career as a professional painter in Europe and has had numerous exhibtion in Spain , Portugal and Germany . To day his paintings form part of private and public collections across the works and he enjoys a great reputation throughout the continentsHe has received constant acclaim, winning numerous awards such as the prestigious "Caran D'Ache" drawing award. He was the guest Artist representing Portugal in the "Euro Art Exhibition", finalist in the Sulman art prize and participant in the Archibald Festival.

and romantic ambience of an old church. As you enter the Gallery the
atmosphere and the professional way the paintings are displayed on
the walls will overwhelm you. Soft relaxing music flows as you view

Albert Namatjira, David Boyd, Pro Hart, Norman Lindsay, Geoff Dyer, Ann Morton, Jos Kivits, Steve Morwell. Many of the Artists are exclusive to the Gallery.
The Gallery prides itself in
exhibiting Australian Artists, Local, NSW, S.A. Victoria, W.A. and
Queensland. Not to be missed is hand blown glassware from Colin
Heaney, Mark Kalifa from S.A. Eamonn Vereker who has worked with
glass for over 26 years and is a qualified Master Cutter. Stunning
hand carved wood items, pewter, bronze, hand made jewellery from
W.A. ceramics, memorabilia, Shona Stone Sculpture from Zimbabwe made

Get There
Dural Gallery is located at 937 Old Northern Road,
Dural – just up from Hargreaves Nursery.
If you are
travelling from the south via Pennant Hills/New Line Road or Round
Corner Dural/Old Northern Road, follow the signs towards Wisemans
Ferry. You will pass Hargraves Nursery and Dural Gallery is situated
on your right in the small town of Dural.
If you are coming
from the north via Wisemans Ferry/Galston, you will find us just on
Old Northern Road just south of the Galston Road intersection (where
you will see signs to Swanes Nursery). It’s that easy.
